Manufacturing Process-Hot Press Forming

The PPR Tee hot pressing method is used to flatten a tube blank that is initially larger than the tee's diameter, to match the tee's diameter. In this process, a cold drawn tee creates an opening in the stretched branch tube. The tube blank is first heated and then placed in a forming die. A punching die is installed within the tube blank to stretch the branch pipe. As pressure is applied, the tube blank undergoes radial compression. As the metal flows towards the branch tube, under the stretching force of the punching die, a branch tube is formed. This entire process is a result of the radial compression of the tube blank and the stretching of the branch pipe. Unlike the hydraulic bulging tee method, the metal of the hot-pressed tee branch compensates through the radial movement of the tube blank, thus earning the name of the radial compensation process.
