This brass composition comprises 57-60% copper, 2.4-3.7% lead, and 0.5-1.9% iron. It finds widespread application due to its remarkable properties. The presence of DZR is crucial for fittings as it prevents the oxidation of zinc within the brass, consequently safeguarding against corrosion and potential malfunctioning of the fittings.

C27400 brass, also known as 58-3 brass, is a lead-free alloy with a composition that includes 63-68% copper, 0.07-0.12% lead, and 0.03-0.06% iron. This brass variant is widely utilized in fittings owing to its notable attributes such as good resistance against corrosion, high strength, and exceptional brazing properties. It finds extensive applications in scenarios where both strength and leak-tightness are of utmost importance.

The primary distinguishing factor between CW617 brass and 58-3 brass lies in their copper composition. 58-3 brass contains a larger percentage of copper and a lower proportion of lead, rendering it sturdier and more enduring than CW617 brass. Nevertheless, given its higher melting point, working with 58-3 brass could be more challenging than with CW617 brass.
